Some businesses are built in boardrooms.

Others are built on long days, dusty roads, and showing up sale after sale for the people who trust you.

For more than 20 years, Cattle in Motion has been built the second way.

Founded by Tim and Davy Lockhart, and now led by Tim and Erin Lockhart, Cattle in Motion was created to meet a real need in the cattle business. Producers needed dependable video, live auction streaming, and clerking services delivered by people who understood cattle and the relationships behind them

That same commitment to people, honesty, and hard work is what brings Cattle in Motion and LiveAg together today.

Built the Hard Way, and the Right Way

Cattle in Motion did not grow overnight.

It grew mile by mile and sale by sale. From ballrooms to back pens. From small local auctions to international sales. From the back of a flatbed truck to some of the most unique auctions the industry has seen.

Over the years, the team has traveled millions of miles, taken countless photos, and worked thousands of auctions across the United States and abroad. Along the way, they have represented not just cattle, but horses, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, ag mechanics projects, art, and more.

Through it all, the focus never changed.

“This business was built out of necessity,” said Tim Lockhart. “From the beginning, our focus has been on representing cattle the right way and taking care of the people behind them.”

Why LiveAg, and Why Now

As the cattle business continues to change, Tim and Erin began asking a simple question. How do we keep serving our customers the way we always have, while setting things up for the future?

That question led them to LiveAg.

LiveAg was built by cattle people who believe technology should support relationships, not replace them. It is a platform designed to give good cattle the visibility they deserve, while keeping reps, breeders, and buyers at the center of every auction.

“Partnering with LiveAg allows us to keep doing what we have always done,” Tim said. “It gives our customers a stronger auction platform and more long-term support, without losing what matters.”

For Erin Lockhart, the decision came down to shared values. “This move allows us to keep serving our customers the way we always have, while setting things up for the future,” Erin said. “LiveAg believes in relationship-driven business, and that made this a good fit.”

What This Means for Customers

If you have worked with Cattle in Motion in the past, the most important thing to know is this.

The people and relationships you trust are not changing.

Beginning January 29, 2026, Cattle in Motion auctions are hosted on LiveAg’s bidding platform. Online bidding and sale landing pages are available through LiveAg, giving sellers and buyers expanded reach, improved auction technology, and consistent sale support.

Customers can continue to find sale information through the Cattle in Motion website in the near term. That site will remain active through the end of March, after which it will be sunset as part of a full transition to LiveAg.

A Shared Philosophy

LiveAg CEO Jason Barber says the partnership felt natural from the start.

“Tim, Erin, and the Lockhart family have earned respect in the Brahman world and across the Southeast by doing things the right way,” Barber said. “This business still runs on relationships, honest representation, and keeping your word.”

Barber, a fifth-generation Texas cattleman, said LiveAg’s role is to support the people doing the work.

“Our goal is to provide tools that strengthen real relationships between breeders, reps, and buyers,” he said. “Cattle In Motion understands that good cattle deserve to be seen, and trust is earned auction by auction.”

Looking Ahead

For Tim and Erin, this partnership is about continuity.

It is about honoring the work that has already been done and making sure the next chapter is just as strong.

“It has been hard work,” Erin said. “But we would do it all over again.”

As Cattle In Motion moves forward alongside LiveAg, that same work ethic, care for customers, and commitment to honest representation will remain at the core.

We are honored to help carry that legacy forward.
